Hard to Place Dogs

Meet Ebony!

Ebony came to CSA on 6-16-11 as a stray through Animal Control from a nearby Township. She is what we call, a hard to place dog. This however, is through no fault of hers.

A hard to place dog is one that has some sort of issue. This doesn’t mean it’s necessarily even a true “negative” issue. Dogs with a high energy level like Ebony often fall into this category, making potential adopters leery of taking them home. In truth, if she did find a home where she received lots of daily exercise, this hyper active trait would likely subside.

In a shelter/kennel situation, dogs are confined most of the time, and behaviors such as this are exemplified, so they are overlooked. By remaining in the shelter for so long, and taking a spot which is SO NEEDED to save other homeless dogs, it then completes the “negative” circle which surrounds them. In reality, Ebony is a friendly and playful dog who will make the right person a life long friend and companion. Education, understanding and a willingness to try are vital for finding dogs like Ebony the right FOREVER home.

Won’t you give her the love she so deserves?
